Kuidar Mais

WORKS

https://www.kuidarmais.com.br is a support service for families in Brazil caring for loved ones living with dementia. Their professional team (nurse, social worker, administrator) provides remote guidance through WhatsApp and scheduled calls. To support an upcoming pilot with 10–20 families, they needed a simple, stable MVP to centralize case information, display personalized care plans, and reliably manage daily WhatsApp check-ins. We partnered with KUIDAR+ to design and deliver a production-ready tool that validates their core workflows and prepares the organization for future scale. Objectives ● Ensure the technical readiness of the MVP for a real-world pilot. ● Implement secure authentication and role-based access for staff and caregivers. ● Integrate WhatsApp Cloud API for daily check-ins and inbound message logging. ● Provide a clean PCI viewer for both staff and caregivers.

Objectives

  • Ensure the technical readiness of the MVP for a real-world pilot.
  • Implement secure authentication and role-based access for staff and caregivers
  • Integrate WhatsApp Cloud API for daily check-ins and inbound message logging
  • Provide a clean PCI viewer for both staff and caregivers
  • Build a lightweight, maintainable system aligned with the team’s operational workflow.

Analysis and Planning

Client Requirements

Before going live, the team needed to validate four key areas:

  • Is the system secure and compliant with data-handling expectations?
  • Is the architecture scalable beyond the pilot?
  • Are WhatsApp flows reliable and idempotent?
  • Is the caregiver experience simple and consistent?

They also required support configuring environments, messaging infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.

System Architecture

We selected a modern, modular stack:

  • Frontend: Next.js (App Router), TailwindCSS, shadcn/ui
  • Backend: Node.js (Express/tRPC)
  • Database: PostgreSQL (Supabase/Neon)
  • Storage: Supabase Storage or S3
  • Messaging: WhatsApp Cloud API
  • Hosting: Vercel (frontend) + Railway/Fly.io (backend)

This architecture enabled fast iteration, clean separation of roles, and reliable messaging.

Integration and Testing

We simulated real user flows—from onboarding to daily check-ins—to validate the system under realistic conditions. This included:

  • Parsing WhatsApp responses (1, 2, 3) and classifying invalid replies
  • Logging caregiver-initiated messages
  • Verifying RBAC across staff and caregiver portals
  • Testing PCI uploads and signed URL access
  • Monitoring logs for silent errors or duplicate messages

The result was a stable, predictable system ready for real caregivers.

Key Features Delivered

  • Authentication & RBAC
  • Case Management Dashboard
  • PCI Viewer
  • WhatsApp Integration
  • Caregiver-Initiated Messages
  • Deployment

Conclusion

This collaboration enabled KUIDAR+ to launch a reliable, technically sound MVP that supports their caregiving model during the pilot phase. The system centralizes case information, displays care plans securely, automates daily WhatsApp check-ins, and logs caregiver messages—all within a simple, intuitive interface.

The architecture is stable, scalable, and ready for future iterations, providing a strong foundation for the next stage of KUIDAR+’s mission to support families caring for loved ones with dementia.
